Ge Union Agreement

The four-year interim agreement includes about 6,600 employees in 11 unions working at different GE companies, including GE`s turbine plant in Schenectady and an aviation plant in Lynn, Massachusetts. The proposal still needs to be voted on and approved by the 4,100 union members who work at Appliance Park. The rejected four-year agreement provided for an increase in entry wages to $15.50 per hour, from the current 14 $US per hour, as well as a two-year freeze on employee contributions for health insurance employees. For those hired since 2005, salary increases of an average of $7,000 have been proposed over the next two years.
